Faith routine: either you love it or hate it
Good morning, Bishop!
I was meditating on the Lord’s Word last Thursday, about having a faith routine, of having an intimate relationship with God. And the Holy Spirit said something powerful to me, so I wanted to share it with you.
Let’s imagine the routine of a dentist. People come to his office every day and complain about the same problems: cavities, chipped teeth, pain, etc. There are probably ten common reasons that cause more than 90% of these appointments. Do you think the dentist gets tired of this routine? No! He sacrificedhimself for this routine. He studied more than 6 years to achieve his dream routine….
Another example that came to mind was of an airplane pilot. Those who’ve been flying for a long time accumulate thousands of hours of flight. And the routine is the same: take off, fly, and land. Sometimes, they do this hundreds of times in a month. Do you think he hates this routine? No! He loves this routine. He sacrificedto be in that position.
On the other hand, let’s imagine a lawyer that is working as a car salesman. He sacrificed his life to become a lawyer. And even if he makes money selling cars, he’ll be frustrated as a salesman, and this routine becomes a burden, because he has a different routine than the one he sacrificed for.
The same happens with those who are on the Altar. You sacrificedyour life and your dreams to serve God, because you love the routine of the Altar. Wake up, meditate on the Word of God, go to Church (or to the Altar that God has put you on… TV, administration, etc.), counsel people, do meetings, then return home and sleep.
For those who sacrificed, this routine is marvelous!!! Years and years pass, but he never gets bored.
However, for those who did not sacrifice their lives on the Altar, this faith routine is a burden. He is constantly thinking about breaking the routine, traveling, doing something different, because he cannot enjoy his day-to-day life.
When a person is not happy with the routine they have, it is because they did not sacrifice to be there.
May God bless you abundantly!
