Emotional Faith: a weapon without ammunition
We know that faith is the greatest weapon a Christian has against the devil and the problems this world presents, however, many people have been deceived by emotional faith.
What good is having a high caliber weapon that has astronomical destructive potential, when it doesn’t have ammunition? When you go to use it during the war against the enemy, they will surprise you and you will lose.
The same is true in regards to emotional faith, it has the appearance of a high caliber weapon against the devil, but when the time comes to use it, you wont be able to because it doesn’t have ammunition. And what is the ammunition that emotional faith is lacking?
Obedience to the Word of God, the sacrifice required by this obedience, doing the Will of God by going against our own will, when we wake up and when we go to sleep, at lunch and at dinner, this is, in our everyday life, wherever we go – at home, at work, at church –, when we are close or far from our spiritual leaders, pastors, bishops, etc.
Our Lord Jesus taught us the secret of His success while He was here on earth living in a human body. He left the example of an intelligent and rational faith when He said:
…My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. John 4.34
First – “DO THE WILL OF HIM WHO SENT ME”
Ammunition with great destructive power against the devil, the flesh and problems. This is something that those who have an emotional faith cannot do.
Second – “AND FINISH HIS WORK”
Pulls the trigger and shoots fire at the devil and the injustices that rise up against us every day. This is something that those who have an emotional faith do thinking it’s enough to please God. Pure mistake.
…Have we not done many wonders in Your name? And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ Matthew 7.22-23
Only with this powerful weapon named conscious and intelligent faith, can we not only have a successful life in this world, but most importantly, when we need it the most, which is at death, when we will say like the Apostle Paul:
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that day… 2 Timothy 4.7-8
