Freed from the cage
George Thomas was a well-know English preacher. He arrived for one of his sermons carrying a birdcage, set it on the pulpit and began to preach saying:
“I was walking down the street yesterday when I a saw a boy carrying this cage with these three little birds inside. They were cold and scared. I asked him, ‘Boy, what are you going to do with these birds?’
He answered, ‘I’m going to take them home. Pluck out their feathers and burn them… I’m going to have fun with them.’”
So Mr Thomas asked him, “How much do you want for these birds, boy?”
And the boy answered, “Sir, you wouldn’t want them. They’re useless!”
So the preacher bought them for ten dollars and set them free in a tree.
One day Jesus and Satan had a talk. Jesus asked Satan what he was doing to people on Earth, and he answered:
“I’m having fun with them. I teach them to make bombs, to kill, to use guns, to hate each other and to get married and then divorced. I teach them to abuse little children. I teach the young ones to use drugs, to drink and to do everything they’re not supposed to do, anything that will curse their future. I’m having a lot of fun with them.”
And Jesus asked: “What are you going to do to them in the end?”
“I’ll kill them and destroy them completely.”
So Jesus asked: “How much do you want for them?”
Mockingly, Satan replied: “You wouldn’t want these people. They’re treacherous, liars, false, selfish and greedy. They won’t genuinely love You. They’ll beat you up and spit on Your face. They’ll despise You and discount everything You do for them.”
And Jesus asked again, “How much do you want for them, Satan?”
“I want Your tears and blood.”
And so Jesus paid the price for our freedom.
How can we forget Jesus? How can we believe in everything He teaches, but always question the things that come from Him.
Everybody wants to be with Him one day, but no one really wants to know and love Him.
Many say, “I believe in God”, but they don’t do anything for Him.
People message jokes back and forth, travelling at the speed of light. But when a message is from God, people think twice before sharing It with anyone.
People constantly ask: “What team do you support?” “What car do you like best?” “Who’s your favourite band?” “What’s your favorite song?”
But they think twice before saying: “I belong to Christ” or “I love God”. They try to be invisible.
Do you have the courage to send this message to a friend when you’re finished, or are you uncomfortable about what people may think about you if you send it? Talking about Jesus is not something people usually want to hear. They only want Jesus when they are in deep trouble.
Think about it. There is no other path besides the path of God.
If you believe in God and love Him, send this message to many people, as many as you can, because if this were a song, I’m sure you would immediately share it with all your friends.
May God abundantly bless your day. Be happy, Jesus loves you and I love you too.
