Don’t forget the shovel!

Imagem de capa - Don’t forget the shovel!

You must have a digging tool in your equipment; when you relieve yourself, dig a hole with it and cover up your excrement. For the Lord your God walks throughout your camp to protect you and deliver your enemies to you; so your encampments must be holy. He must not see anything improper among you or He will turn away from you. Deuteronomy 23.13-14 HCSB

Many people might think, “There were so many enemies, they were surrounded by problems on all sides, and God, the Most High, was concerned with cleanliness, hygiene, and anything improper among them!”

The important question is: Has God changed? Does He no longer care about things that may seem minimal?

“…or He will turn away from you.”

It was a matter of health, hygiene, and discipline. It was so important that if they didn’t observe this, God would turn away from them.

“You must have a digging tool in your equipment…”

Today, we see people doing the work of God with all the weapons they received. They cast out demons, heal the sick, and evangelize, but they don’t think they need a “shovel.”

Among the weapons of war, there was the shovel. This was God saying: fight, win, but do not forget the cleanliness, the fragrance, the zeal, the details, the organization, the discipline, etc.

“…God walks throughout your camp…”

Our house, our work, our church, this is, wherever we are, God is walking with us. There cannot be filth, spiritual or physical, mess and indiscipline.

“…He must not see anything improper among you…”

God always gives a warning first, and those who use their reason will obey. If there is something improper, it depends on our willingness to fix it, no matter where it is, God sees it as if it were in us. And those who have it, know they have it.

Here is the warning. REMOVE IT!!!
