Depart from Me
Strong. Extremely strong. Especially for those who do the Work of God.
The message of Jesus was addressed to the oppressed, according to Isaiah 61.1.
At times, He interrupted His messages to encourage the faith of asking, seeking and knocking – salvation of the body. Other times, He focused the messages on the Salvation of the soul – and the one who comes to Me I will by no means cast out.
However, in the passage from Matthew 7.13-23, He strengthens at least 7 points:
1º- The narrow gate;
2º Bewareof falseprophets;
3º The good treebears good fruit;
4º The treethat is cut down and thrown into the fire;
5º Not every believerwill enter the Kingdom of heaven;
6º Those who do the willof God;
7º Those who do His Work.
My attention is drawn to His emphasis on the MANY who did the Work of God but, on that day, will say:
Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name? Matthew 7.22
Those who do the willof God take care of their Salvation; those who do the Workof God take care of the Salvation of others. But, it’s useless to gain the whole world, and lose your relationship with God, consequently also losing your soul.
Obviously, those who are born of God think like Him and want to win souls. However, many do the Work of God, not because they have love for souls, but for themselves. Paul calls them peddlers of the Word. 2 Corinthians 2.17
That Day, they will hear:
Depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness! Matthew 7.23
True servants surrender their lives, surrender their dreams and live to dream the dreams of God. Not only do His Work, but, above all, do His will.
