Day 8 of the Fast of Daniel
Be filled with the Spirit
The expression: be filled with the Spirit (Ephesians 5.18) refers to being filled with the thoughts of God, His Word.
On the other hand, those who are sealed with the Holy Spirit may have “the Spirit annulled” from their life. This is, they can be filled with the filth of this world, even though they can sense the Spirit leaving them.
How is this possible?
Friendships that are contrary to the faith generate thoughts such as: who knows, maybe if I go out with “my worldly friends” I can win them for Jesus?
Who knows, maybe if I get into a relationship with an unbeliever, I can convert him?
Who knows, maybe after we are married, I can convince him to come to Church with me?
The Word of the Spirit is clear, strong and unmistakable:
Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness? And what accord has Christ with Belial? Or what part has a believer with an unbeliever? 2 Corinthians 6.14-15
There is a huge list of satanic arguments that carry a deadly poison. There are more than enough examples.
Many who are baptized with the Holy Spirit have Him annulled from their life, not because they fell into temptation, but because they resisted God’s thoughts and insisted on pursuing satan’s thoughts.
Falling into temptation does not necessarily mean that you will lose the Holy Spirit. Continuing in sin and resisting His Voice can be fatal.
Who, in their right mind, is baptized with the Holy Spirit, and never had a slip up in life? Nobody, except the Lord Jesus.
But when this happens,
My little children, these things write I to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 1 John 2.1
In this case, confess your sin and abandon it immediately.
We are all capable of committing mistakes, even after we are sealed with the Holy Spirit. After all, we are clay houses.
However, those who are sealed have the direction of the Spirit to alert them when they are remaining in sin. If there is not an immediate repentance, it will be followed by the “annulment of the Spirit” in their life.
The non-baptized with the Holy Spirit do not have spiritual discernment. Because of this, they are more vulnerable to the attacks of evil.
This is the reason why we strongly urge you to invest in receiving the Holy Spirit, so that you can remain safe and sound.
But, do not forget: For thus says the High and Lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, with him who has a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones”. Isaiah 57.15
