Day 16 of the Fast of Daniel

Mighty Wind

The benefits of faith are a result of obeying the Word. However, what has gone unnoticed is that obedience itself is an act, not a feeling.

Faith is an attitude, action, movement. When we walk by faith, the Spirit of God moves us. Therefore fear, doubt, anxiety or worry do not exist. Rather, there is certainty, conviction, determination and courage to follow the direction of God. This harmonizes faith with the Spirit.

God is spirit.

In the original, the word spirit is associated with wind, breath, breathing, light, fire, etc. Jesus teaches that those who are guided by the Holy Spirit are like the wind.

Moses saw the bush burn, but was not consumed;

In the wilderness, Israel was led by a pillar of fire at night and a cloud during the day;

At the inauguration of the Temple, the presence of God descended in the form of fire;

Elijah prayed, and fire came down from heaven;

The disciples were gathered in the Upper Room when a Sound, like a mighty wind, filled the whole house.

To walk in Spirit is to walk in faith or in motion.

It’s no use having Bible knowledge and not taking action. Many think this is enough for Salvation and settle in the faith. They are active in disobedience, but passive in the practice of the Word. For such people, the Lord sends the following message:

What right have you to declare My statutes, or take My covenant in your mouth, seeing you hate instruction and cast My words behind you? Psalm 50.16

Those possessed by the Spirit are guided by an impetuous Wind; they are obedient. For this reason, the Holy Spirit inspires, and the person practices and conquers their promised land.

God promised Canaan to Abraham and his descendants. However, like all of God’s promises, they do not happen automatically. One must take possession of them. Between them and their fulfillment exists a path a person must go through. It is by the action of faith that a person takes possession of the promises.

It is no different when it comes to the Salvation of the soul. We were saved, we are saved, and we will be saved if we persevere in the faith, continue to live from faith to faith, take action, and follow the direction of the Spirit.
