David was Grieved

“I beheld the transgressors, and was grieved; because they kept not thy word,” Psalm 119.158, KJV.

Surprisingly, David also grieved. And when did this happen?
While he was being persecuted by his enemies? When he lost his son? When he was wronged? Or was it when everyone turned their back on him?

He felt grieved when he saw people who had full knowledge of the truth but, when it came to putting it into practice, they preferred to do their own will, not caring about the fulfillment of God’s Promises and being unfaithful to Him.

Of course, the impure of this world, and especially the impure among us, must be thinking: ‘Does this mean that they feel grieved when people are unfaithful and the Church lacks the resources to pay its financial commitments?’

“To the pure all things are pure, but to those who are defiled and unbelieving nothing is pure; but even their mind and conscience are defiled,” Titus 1.15.

For God’s sake, please understand: the grief David felt and what we feel today, is not due to the lack of resources for the Church or the pastor’s personal life, because nothing will ever lack in this work since its “Owner is zealous in His care for it.”

What saddened David and saddens us today, is that men of God have the power to foresee the consequences of certain things. We know exactly how far you are able to go – when you are faithful and when you are unfaithful to God.

Therefore, for the good of your own soul and for the guarantee of an honorable life, be faithful to God in everything, including your tithes.
