Covenant with God

Imagem de capa - Covenant with God

A covenant or alliance involves a partnership between two or more people. Marriage is the most significant and expressive covenant. This is because both sides come in with a spiritual investment: faith and love.

Based on this foundation, a mutual surrender is unconditional until death.

Unfortunately, nowadays, marriage hasn’t been taken very seriously. Its importance has only been effective from its celebration until the honeymoon.

Nevertheless, its spiritual and eternal values remain. This is, if we consider its origin in Creation, when the covenant between God and man began.

From God’s part, Adam and Eve received the Earth and dominion over all that was on it.

From man’s part, God only required obedience to His Word.

Within the terms of this covenant, man would have the right to partake of EVERYTHING that belonged to God and vice versa.

Faithfulness, respect, companionship and dedication are some virtues derived from love and faith. How can you charge this from your partner when you do not correspond to your obligations with the covenant made on the Altar? The same is true regarding God. How can we charge His Promises when we do not obey His Word?

I believe that when we do our part in the covenant with God, we have the right to charge His promises from Him. And He, in turn, is obligated to fulfill His part.
