Certainly, the end times will stun the majority of those who consider themselves Christians. Not only for the consequent disasters in themselves, but above all, because of the separation of the called and chosen from the called and rejected. It will be like in Gideon’s time, when 32,000 men of Israel presented themselves for war but only 300 were chosen. That is to say: less than 1% of them were chosen.

Following up on the prophecies, the Lord Jesus said:

But he who endures to the end shall be saved. Matthew 24.13

Who, nowadays, has persevered in the face of small tribulations?

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. Matthew 24.14

Only those who are saved have an interest, one way or another, in saving others.

Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’ spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand) … Matthew 24.15

During the Great Tribulation, when the antichrist will reign, the third Temple will be built by him in Jerusalem and there, he will sit ‘in the holy place’;

Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! Matthew 24.16-19

The world will feel like someone struck a hornets’ nest: with everyone fleeing, and trying to save their own skin. I can imagine the hell that humanity will suffer in those days.

For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. Matthew 24.21

Imagine the extent of this tribulation, when the Lord refers to it as a GREAT TRIBULATION! It will be so haunting that He adds:

And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. Matthew 24.22

Those who have good sense can come to their own conclusions.
