Consecration of the elderly

Imagem de capa - Consecration of the elderly

At the moment, there is no government program that meets all the needs of the senior citizens. In Brazil, the Enhancement Program for the Elderly, created by the Ministry of Health, ceased to exist over three years ago. The Statue of the Elderly, despite existing since 1994, is still unknown to the vast majority of the population and ignored by others.

Data collected by major Brazilian universities reveal that 12% of seniors in Brazil, as many as 2.04 million, have suffered some kind of violence — psychological, sometimes even life threatening, discrimination, physical violence, misuse of money belonging to the elderly, abandonment and even sexual violence. Many of these atrocities are committed in their own homes.

Brazil is among the five countries with the highest rates of violence against elderly people, as in old age many are abandoned by their families, society and even institutions.

In order to change this situation, we will be consecrating all seniors this Sunday at the UCKG, so that respect and divine protection may reach all the seniors that will attend this special consecration.

This is for those who believe that despite their age, they still have a lot of work do and many dreams to achieve…

Human beings can end their days with happiness if they make God their refuge.

God bless you.
