Child sacrifice: a business

A BBC report aired last Tuesday, exposing the practice of child sacrifices in Uganda, Africa.

A reporter posed as a business man and asked around for a witchdoctor that could bring prosperity to their local construction company.

Right away, the witchdoctor charged about $400, sacrificed a goat and asked the businessman to return in 2 days.

During their second meeting, the witchdoctor offered the reporter, who continued disguised as a businessman, a “more powerful” spell:  sacrificing a child and burying their body parts at the construction site.

The witchdoctor explained, in order for him to get the best results, he’d need a more powerful spell.

Their meeting was filmed with a hidden camera and the images were handed over to the local police. Unfortunately, the authorities appear unwilling to take action. There are nearly a thousand opened-cases just like this one and the police are doing nothing about it.

The article stated that members of the country’s new elite have turned this kind of sacrifice into a business, where they exchange vast sums of money for sacrifices in a bid to increase their power and wealth.

The UCKG has been in Uganda for over 15 years and through our evangelistic work, we’ve been able to help many people and children escape the harms of this awful practice.

The Church takes action by educating the people, teaching them to dispel the myths and the mysticism, and leading them to real prosperity, which comes from obeying the Gospel.
