Change your vision

It is impressive how a person’s condition is instantly transformed when their vision is changed, whether it is for the better or for worse! Like the situation of the two men we will now read about, who were not BLIND because they were beggars, but they were beggars because of their BLINDNESS.

“Now as they went out of Jericho, a great multitude followed Him. And behold, two blind men sitting by the road, when they heard that Jesus was passing by, cried out, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!” Then the multitude warned them that they should be quiet; but they cried out all the more, saying, “Have mercy on us, O Lord, Son of David!” So Jesus stood still and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?” They said to Him, “Lord, that our eyes may be opened.” So Jesus had compassion and touched their eyes. And immediately their eyes received sight, and they followed Him.” Matthew 20.29-34

In this passage, we see how a person’s complete transformation is determined when their spiritual eyes are opened. This is what happened to those BLIND men.

Up until that day, the only thing these men had asked for were alms (gold), but when they received the power to be before Jesus (Altar) they were healed of their worst infirmity: SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS. Through this they were healed of their PHYSCIAL BLINDNESS by Jesus, from whom they had pleaded mercy and then asked for their eyes to be opened.

Why did they not ask Jesus for money, but for mercy instead?
For a very special reason: their spiritual eyes had opened before their carnal ones, and so they were able understand that the Lord Jesus (Altar) is much greater than gold (alms) and has much more to offer.

With alms, they would be able to solve a few small problems, such as their material and earthly needs but would remain BLIND and beggars. Whereas if they were allied with the Lord Jesus, who is the Altar, they would quench the eternal thirst of the soul, which is salvation.

They proved this, when after receiving their healing, “…they followed Him”. This was different from the countless other people who, after receiving a few miracles (gold), would leave and never come back.

May God bless you all and heal you of the infirmity that kills the most in this world: “SPIRITUAL BLINDNESS”.
