Caravan for Healing of Addictions gathers 10,000 people in Minas Gerais
Large crowds have gathered at each new “Caravan for Healing of Addictions”, which are led by Bishop Roger Formigoni. Last Tuesday (14), the meeting took place in Belo Horizonte, the capital of Minas Gerais. Over 10,000 people were present at the Avenida Olegario Maciel UCKG, in Lourdes.
During the meeting, something unusual happened. A man asked to speak to one of the pastors and told him that he oversaw the drug trade in one of the most well-known and dangerous slums of Belo Horizonte. He had come to the meeting because he heard that several people who owed him money would be there, so he came to collect. But something happened. This is his account:
“Pastor, you can go to the slums and ask about me. Whenever I come around, my soldiers clear the streets for me to pass. Motorcycles and cars are left running, in case I ask to be taken somewhere, this way I can just hop in.
I came here today to collect from that guy who was up there talking (referring to another young man who was manifested on the altar) and some others that I knew would be here today. Just that guy up there owes me $4,000 and as I look around, I can see a couple more people that owe me over $20,000.
But after seeing that guy manifested up there, I understand there is something bad in him, and I don’t want that in my life. I’ll be back on Sunday at 3pm.
I’ve decided: I want to change my life. It’s going to be difficult to leave this lifestyle, but this is how I see things and if I’m telling you that I’ll be here, then I’ll be here.”
Then he asked for a prayer and said the young man that was manifested saw him and left in fear, but he could rest assured he wouldn’t do anything to him. And another one that also saw him and said he would pay back what he owed, he said: “No, that debt has been wiped clean.”
The “Caravan for Healing of Addictions” has been held in several states in Brazil and it’s on a mission to tour the entire country fighting against the epidemic of addictions, which is a disease that affects society and has destroyed numerous families.
During the event, bishop Formigoni explains that a person can completely abandon an addiction when they decide to wholeheartedly surrender to God. He goes on to speak about the importance of the Word to achieve complete deliverance and prays for all those who suffer with this problem.
During the meetings, many people share their stories about how they managed to break free from addictions and change their lives, like Arideu. Take a look at his testimony:
