Called, but not chosen
Most of those who consider themselves Christians were called, but unfortunately, they were not chosen.
They received biblical information, but the Most High did not reveal Himself to them.
Peter is an example of this. Jesus declared He was the Messiah, and said to him:
Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. Matthew 16.17
The Lord is very clear about the difference between those informed by flesh and blood and those who receive a revelation from the Spirit of God.
We should also remember that on another occasion, the Lord said:
That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. John 3.6
This is another way of explaining the difference between those formed by the flesh and those formed by the Spirit of God.
The flesh deals with human nature and its available resources. However, the Spirit has to do with the nature of God.
Those who are not chosen were not created in the image of God because they were not born of the Holy Spirit.
For this reason, they have an extremely difficult time keeping the flame of faith burning.
They possess a theory of God’s oracles, but cannot materialize them because they don’t have a spiritual nature.
However, the chosen have a spiritual nature. Therefore, the more struggles they endure, the more their faith will be vigorous and of better quality.
For them, the more intense the persecution, the more infamous the injustice, the bigger the tribulation, the greater their victory here on Earth.
As a personal testimony: the greater the shame and humiliation we go through for our Lord, the greater our reward will be in heaven. Luke 6.22-23
