Blessed Tribulations

The happiness achieved from material success often causes a false sense of well-being. Leading that person to think they have a solid relationship with God. This believer now feels enthusiastic, encouraged in their faith and is even willing to do God’s work.

But when they start seeing a sign of tribulations, their happiness gives way to sadness, their euphoria cools down and their faith gives way to doubts and regrets. Their willingness to serve God dies down.

At this very moment, their confession of faith is being tested. The cross and the world, wait to see, which side the balance will tip. This is where their faith will be defined.

God has not only given us faith to achieve spiritual and material success; our faith is also meant to overcome failed attempts. In the world of supernatural energy, all things work together for good, for the wins and the losses.

After all, those whose lives depend upon the Spirit are dead to this world. The struggles and setbacks encountered on Earth are part of a learning experience, how to live life by faith.

Solomon is a great example of the destruction caused by a life absent of troubles. He was born to reign and never had to encounter any problems. After winning God’s heart, he became the wisest man on Earth. He was powerfully rich; he had everything his heart desired.

He didn’t even have enemies.

He sent a letter to the king of Tyre saying, “The Lord my God has given me rest on every side; there is neither adversary nor evil occurrence.” I Kings 5:4

History states that the absence of problems became Solomon’s biggest and most dangerous enemy. That Christian feeling of well-being can become a deadly adversary; it causes you to relax in the faith, which then turns into spiritual coldness.

“Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.” Matthew 26:41
