…In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality. Acts 10.34

This is why the Universal Church has invested in evangelizing in the prisons. And in the state of Texas, in the United States, it has been no different. The Universal Church has done outreach in nine prisons, one of them being maximum security, which has a special placement in the prison that houses inmates awaiting the death penalty, known as “Death Row.” Through daily meetings, more than 3,000 detainees have been attended to and have learned about living faith, forgiveness, and being born again. Many have even been baptized and released from prison. This is what happened with Casey McCain.

“My childhood was great! I had everything I wanted and needed. I grew up playing soccer, baseball, and golf. My grades in school were excellent, and I didn’t really have anything to worry about. Three years after graduating from high school, in 2003, I got married. My marriage lasted a little over 13 years. I had 3 beautiful children, and my life was, apparently, great. We were the typical “American family.” I worked and took care of my family like I was supposed to. However, things weren’t exactly as they seemed.

One night, in 2008, I was at a bar, and a fight broke out. I went to defend my friend, and that’s when things got difficult for me. Two weeks later, after all the confusion had settled, I went and surrendered to the police. During two years, I had several hearings on this case. Then, in 2010, I went to trial, and the jury sentenced me to 6 years of probation. Out of the six years, I did five and a half. At that time, I was going out a lot to bars and arguing with my wife about money and other problems. Things were no longer the same. In 2015, we filed for divorce. I started dating all kinds of women and using drugs and alcohol. After not appearing at my parole hearings for 2 months, my freedom was revoked, and I was sentenced to 6 years in prison. I ended up doing 3 years.”

During this time, Casey began attending the Universal Church’s meetings at the prison. He was present the day our first Church was inaugurated and has participated in every meeting ever since. Obeying the teachings and advice of the pastors, today, one year later, Jesus delivered him, and he was released from prison. Also, for God’s glory, I officiated his wedding before God on June 15th.

“Life is much better when you live for God. Even though I was incarcerated, I was freer than ever, leading others to know the Lord Jesus. I’ve done things I never thought I’d do. Today I can help many people because Jesus is in me. I’ve been out of jail for about 4 months, and I’ve already opened my own business and got married. Jesus is wonderful!!! God has blessed me with everything I’ve asked Him in prayer. Today, I am a warrior of faith. God has blessed me so that I can be a blessing to others.

My name is Casey McCain, I’m 36 years old, and this is my story.”
