An unforgettable meeting
Bishop Macedo met with Rede Record’s journalism executives for lunch on Monday (25) at the station’s headquarters in São Paulo.
The purpose of this meeting was to celebrate their growing audience and the strengthening of the station’s image during recent years.
Among the largest stations in the country, Record airs the most journalistic content. When it comes to journalism, Record is in the lead with at least 1,200 minutes every month.
In addition to the vice president of Journalism, Douglas Tavolaro, other newsroom head chiefs were also present.
Bishop Renato Cardoso, executive Moyses Macedo, executive vice president Marcus Vinicius Vieira and Vice President of Programming, Marcelo Silva, also participated.
One of the most significant moments during the Bishop’s rare visit to the station’s headquarters was his reunion with journalist Maria Paula Bexiga, a reporter for the station during the time of his arrest.
– I interviewed the Bishop in jail. He seemed to be down, but confident that things would turn around – Maria Paula remembers, an official of Rede Record since 1990.
– Our station was bankrupt, full of debts, in the mud and we were only able to come out of this situation thanks to the courage and determination of Bishop Edir. Today, almost 25 years later, Rede Record is a powerhouse with a great growing potential. And most importantly: he changed the history of Brazil by putting an end to the information monopoly – concluded the journalist.
