Wearing a wedding ring does not necessarily mean there is loyalty in a marriage; it just means a commitment exists between two people.

But for those who value honor, loyalty is part of their character. It is so important that they make a point of never removing the wedding ring from their finger.

For richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health…

However, a loyal character hasn’t been very common among people.

Just like it also hasn’t been common to find someone with a faithful character to God.

And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold. Matthew 24.12

If loyalty to someone you can see is rare, imagine how much more difficult it is to be faithful to Someone you cannot see.

However, whether the relationship is husband/wife or creation/Creator, there is something physical that indicates this partnership — a covenant.

Diamond, gold, silver, copper or even brass, it doesn’t matter.

Its importance is not in its monetary value, but its meaning.

A covenant is a definite partnership with the person you hold dearest in this world.

After the Lord Jesus, your spouse is above all other people in this world. Your spouse is above your parents, children, siblings, this is, above everything else.

This is the sacred husband/wife covenant.

The same is true in the relationship of faith between the creation and the Creator.

It is impossible to be happy in this world without the perfect marriage.

On the other hand, it is impossible to have the perfect marriage without a true covenant with the Lord.

In a marriage, the rings are a sign of the commitment made between the couple.

Tithes and offerings are a sign of a servant’s commitment to the Lord.

Tithes symbolize faithfulness;

Offerings symbolize love.

Loyalty and love are essential ingredients in a relationship with the Lord.

Loyalty and love are key ingredients in a relationship between a husband and wife.

In other words, the husband-wife relationship typifies the relationship between the creation and the Creator.
