A policeman’s memories

Imagem de capa - A policeman’s memories

Hello bishop, may God bless you greatly!

However, I haven’t always wished these blessings upon you.

While reading the book “Nothing to Lose”, I saw a picture where the members of the Church were holding hands, and surrounding the building of the Legislative Assembly of the state of Sao Paulo. I was there, not as a member but as a police officer. I was part of the security officers of the Legislature at the time, fulfilling our mission to safeguard our patrimony.

I remember that my fellow police officers and I angrily criticized the people who were there holding hands, praying and determining that justice be done, and you would be set free. We thought they were fanatics and very unoccupied because they had nothing better to do than defend someone that we considered to be the antichrist. This image we had of you was created by the media, which I remember very well, did everything to denigrate you and the Universal Church.

Those who are from that time know very well what I’m talking about.

At that time, my wife had become a member of the Universal Church, and she prayed for me every day and participated in every purpose of faith.

Once, I got so upset that I raided the Church while my wife Silvia was attending an assistant’s meeting, and I wanted to drag her out of there at all costs because I thought, like everyone claimed, that the Universal Church brainwashed its members. I was very concerned. I do not remember how I got out of there because I think that I was manifested at the time. I really do not remember how I got out of the Church. What I do know is that the pastor almost told my wife to stop being an assistant, since I did not accept that situation under any circumstances.

But, because of my wife’s prayers and her determination, I was delivered and converted to God that same year in which you were arrested. And today we are both assistants in Sao Joao da Boa Vista (Sao Paulo – Brazil).

In a way, I was part of this story and relived it all as I read the book “Nothing to Lose”.

I would like to tell all the wives and mothers who are suffering because of their children, husbands, etc..: Do not give in to your problems. God will deliver them.
