What’s understood from this passage:

Just because someone has received the Holy Spirit doesn’t mean that their life is going to be a bed of roses. Instead, He’ll lead them into certain situations in order to teach them two basic things:

a) keep your salvation and

b) be an instrument in God’s hands.
