10 reasons why Christians vote for Christians
1. Because all it takes for evil to prevail is for good people to do nothing and just remain watching from the stands. (Esther 4.14);
2. Because we are called to obey governing authorities. If they are wicked, we are subject to them and their laws. (Romans 13.1);
3. Because the elected government creates, executes and judges according to the laws that affect Christian principles, such as marriage, family, sexuality, religious freedom and more. To protect these principles, we need to elect leaders who have them. (Daniel 3.5-8);
4. Because God’s people were warned by Him not to elect an unbeliever to govern over them. (Deuteronomy 17.15);
5. Because “For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest on the land allotted to the righteous, lest the righteous reach out their hands to iniquity.” Psalm 125.3. We are obligated not to allow the wicked to continue ruling over our land;
6. Because blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. Psalm 33.12. We should elect the leaders for our nation that not only say they believe in God, but really have a history of living with God and for God.
7. Because we are the salt of the earth and can make a positive difference in the government. We have lived through days where bad, hateful and godless people have occupied important political positions. If we do not have Christian representatives in these fields, we will be even more persecuted and oppressed. (Matthew 5.13);
8. Because “By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted, but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.” Proverbs 11.11. The wicked make sure their voices are heard in the polls. Therefore, those who are good cannot remain silent. We have the power to bless our city, state and country;
9. Because “When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; but when a wicked man rules, the people groan.” Proverbs 29.2;
10. Because the biblical standard for leaders is that they be able, fear God, trustworthy and completely honest (Exodus 18.21,22), for they will be responsible for serving the people with justice at all times.
Attention:
Not every candidate who calls himself a Christian really is a Christian. Ask questions, do your research and, above all, vote for loyalty to God above loyalty to any person or party. The future of the nation is in your hands. Make sure you vote. Share this with every Christian you know.
