Difficult, but not impossible

Hello bishop,

When we are baptized in the Holy Spirit our hearts become like that of a child. We CAN’T hold a grudge against anyone, even when they have committed the greatest atrocity in the world.

Well, it happened to me. I had been married for 4 years and loved her very much. We had made plans together that included our little daughter. That’s when I found out she was cheating on me, and worse, with a childhood friend. They had the nerve to look me in the eyes and say they would never do that to me.

Bishop, that news was like a bomb that destroyed my world. I was extremely upset and ended our relationship.

That was a very difficult phase of my life. I had already been baptized in the Holy Spirit, but this was my baptism of fire. I had to fight a lot with my heart, because it did not want to forgive. Every day I would wake up at dawn with the demonic thought of killing them both, and what made it worse was the fact that I would see them almost every day, because we were neighbors.

It was a real war between heart and spirit, but I started to do as you advised, to pray for them, even when I wanted to wish them harm. Everytime I saw him, I would run to the house, go into the bathroom and pray, asking God to bless them.

This is how I was able to keep my heart clean. Today I speak to her normally. He was arrested for what seems to be no good reason, but I also talk to him.

And so, I offer my advice: It is well worth praying for those who cause you harm.

Today I am very happy with a great woman of God.
