Thank God for What?
Thank God for the battles…
Thank God for my salvation.
If it wasn’t for that, I would have no reason to live.
Thank God for the sacrifices.
Because of them, I know the level of my faith in God.
Thank God for the battles,
Because they reveal the cowards and the brave.
Thank God for the thorns in our flesh.
If it is not for them, we would become accommodated in the faith.
Thank God for those who hate me.
If it weren’t for them, I would not find the strength to fight.
Thank God for the hardships.
Without them, how do we exercise faith?
Thank God for traitors.
Without them, how can we identify those who are loyal?
Thank God for our daily problems.
If it weren’t for them, how would we live in dependency on God?
Thank God for injustices.
If it weren’t for them, how would we know the Just Judge?
Thank God for misunderstandings.
If it weren’t for them, how would we understand the human mind?
Thank God for pain.
If it wasn’t for that, how would we detect a physical problem?
Thank God for weaknesses,
Because they evoke my strength.
In prison, I learnt to make lemonade out of a lemon.
Thank God when I am sad,
Because the Holy Spirit makes me happy.
Thank God when I cry,
Because the Holy Spirit comforts me.
Thank God for death,
Because it opens us the door to eternal life.
Thank God for tribulations,
Because they allow me to grow in faith.
Thank God for the distress of injustice,
Because it does not allow my revolt to sleep.
Thank God for loneliness,
Because then there is more time for my Lord and God.
Thank God for my wife,
Because I have someone who can handle my defects.
Thank God for my children,
Because I can understand my Eternal Father.
Thank God for the children in faith,
Because they will be faithful in the continuity of the Kingdom of God.
Thank God for the work of salvation,
Because I feel myself useful as a servant of the God of Abraham.
Thank God for the stones along the way,
Because they give me experience in faith.
Thank God for having been at the bottom of the pit,
Without that I would not have found my Lord and Saviour.
Thank God for the called and chosen,
Because they have made the difference.
In short, in everything I give thanks to God because all things work together for good to those who love God. Romans 8.28
