YOU WANT, BUT YOU CAN'T vs YOU CAN, BUT YOU DON'T WANT

Get out of your comfort zone, face the butterflies in your stomach and see extraordinary results.

If you want to succeed in life, you have to learn one rule: do what you don’t want to. Yes, it is something that affronts us, that bothers us, and makes us uncomfortable, but it is a rule. It’s no use arguing with it. The sooner you make peace with this rule, the faster your life will change.

There are many people stuck in time, in thoughts, because they think: “I can’t get what I want”. “I can’t get the money I need to start a business”. “I can’t make my spouse change”. “I wanted to lose weight.” “I wanted to forgive someone, but I can’t forget what happened.” “I wanted to approach a person for a relationship, but I’m shy”. Indeed, what are these people supposed to be doing? They should think: “I’m going to do what I don’t want to do, but I can do it”.

There are many things you can do. If you overcome the urge to stay in your comfort zone, you can move forward. For example, you don’t want to start a business with no money, but you can. How many people started a business with no money? You don’t want: you’d rather have money first. But you can get started with no money!

You don’t want to treat your spouse well while they treat you badly. You would like your spouse to change, to start treating you well so that you could also start treating him or her well. However, you can treat them well, even when they treat you badly. You can be friendly. Is it a fight? Yes, but you can!

It’s in what you don’t want that the answer lies. There are things that people keep avoiding and making excuses for. They focus more on what they can’t do than what they can do. All that God requires of us is what we can do. He is not unreasonable, expecting something impossible from us.

If you don’t want to do it, then you have surrendered to your weaknesses and your passions. You are living under the illusion that someday things will get easier and then, yes, you will change. But nothing in your life is going to get any easier. You will only make your situation worse.

Instead of saying you can’t get what you want, do what you don’t want (but can do). Apply this rule. Without wondering whether or not you feel like it. Do it. And, thank God, that’s life, because if we were to indulge our desires, we’d be monsters.

So make peace with this rule. This, yes, will make you change your life. And not focusing your energy on what you can’t do. Watch the video above and reflect on this.
