YOU ARE FREE TO CHOOSE (but it is compulsory to reap)

May your desire to win be greater than the pride in asking for help

The Word of God says: “Seek the Lord while He may be found, call upon Him while he is near” (Isaiah 55:6). They are few words but very powerful and carry significant meaning for us. And they are words that confront the widespread thought that “if God is good, He has to help me, and I don’t need to do anything.”

Do you know a rude child who doesn’t do anything for his parents and only gives problems? When they’re at their worst, they get angry with their father for not helping them get out of that trouble? That’s how the human being is. They emotionally blackmail. This rude child doesn’t want anything to do with their father, but they want everything their father has. Anyone who sees a child mistreating their father or mother is outraged. There are children who, when their father doesn’t do things the way they want, still get angry with their father. When you, from the outside, observe this, you say: “what an insolent boy”. Because your sense of justice tells you this is wrong, but that’s precisely what many people do with God.

In other words, the verse above says that the first part is ours. The “seek” should come from those who need help. It’s not God who runs after you. He’s on your side, waiting for you to seek Him. But He doesn’t impose Himself. Humans want freedom so much, and God gives them that freedom to choose what they want. The choices and consequences are ours. So, if you want His help, you must look for it (and with humility). Those who seek help with pride may not get very far. The person humiliates themselves before the bank manager, don’t they? At the job interview or when you need a favour from someone. However, they don’t want to humiliate themselves before God.

The other truth here is that you won’t always be able to find Him. The door will close. It could be “too late”. You, who keep postponing your return to God because you say you have time, know that no one needs to be sick or old to die. You need to know that the opportunity will come to an end. There will be a time when God will not be near. So, the time is now. Watch the video above and reflect on this message in full.
