WHY DO MISFORTUNES PEAK AT CERTAIN TIMES?
Why celebration periods reveal a silent law of life - and how faith protects us from the consequences.
Faith reveals a pattern that is repeated every year: holidays, parties, the end of the year arrive – and, with them, accidents, deaths, betrayals, violence and confusion increase. It was supposed to be a time of rest, family, joy. However, for many, it becomes a period of pain, regret and irreparable losses.
But why?
When rest becomes excess
Before talking about any spiritual aspect, let’s look at the obvious. During holiday seasons, people tend to let their brakes off. What has been contained throughout the year – desires, will, impulses – is now released without a filter.
Thus, they exceed themselves. They exceed limits. The flesh speaks louder. And, inevitably, the consequences appear.
It is here that a simple but hard truth manifests itself:
The more you do what you want, the more you find what you don’t want.
No one escapes this law. Neither you nor me.
The law that governs life
Whenever we give vent to our natural inclinations, we end up reaping unwanted results. Curiously, the opposite is also true. When we do what we don’t want – when we go against the will of the body – we finally get where we want.
Think with me:
Does the body want to wake up early? No.
Do you want to sleep earlier? No.
Do you want to exercise? No.
Do you want discipline, self-denial and effort? Neither.
The body wants comfort, immediate pleasure, rest and excesses. However, when we choose the sacrifice, the results appear. This applies to health, financial life, relationships – and, above all, spiritual life.
Nothing is conquered without sacrifice
In this world, no one conquers anything without sacrifice. Still, many people want heaven without giving up anything. It’s a contradiction. They don’t sacrifice themselves even to achieve earthly things, but expect eternal rewards.
The more I do what I want, the more I bring into my life what I don’t want. However, when I learn to contradict my will, I begin to walk towards the good I want to achieve.
The inner war we all face
The Word of God makes this very clear in Galatians 5:17:
The flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh.
There is a war inside us. The human will wants one thing; the Spirit of God wants another. And when we win this internal battle, we avoid falling into the works of the flesh – exactly those that peak in periods of celebration: fights, jealousy, excesses, addictions, confusions and destruction.
People think they are “enjoying” it, but in the end, they are being consumed by what they chose to follow.
Submitting the will is protection
Therefore, the secret is not to avoid parties, trips or leisure moments. The secret is not to give vent to the flesh, not even when no one is looking.
In personal life, in the silence of the room, in intimate decisions, the same rule applies: if you follow the flesh, you will find pain in front. It’s inevitable.
Now, if you want to find good, do the opposite: restrict the flesh and submit your will to God’s will.
Question your wishes. Ask before deciding. Compare your will with the Word. Seek the direction of the Holy Spirit.
The safest choice
If in doubt, don’t do your will. Do God’s will. It is good, perfect and pleasant – always.
There are no side effects in obeying God. No one gets hurt for doing His will. Already following your own flesh… it almost always ends badly.
Here is my invitation: before deciding, before acting, before giving in to the impulse, choose faith and obedience. This simple choice can free you from pain that could mark your life forever.
This video is an alert and an opportunity.
Understanding this today can avoid great pain tomorrow.
