WHO ARE YOU WHEN YOUR PLANS GO WRONG? (And the Ape’s Lesson)

God gave us a unique ability to overcome problems, anxiety, and everything in life. Have you been using this power?

Who are you when your plans don’t work out? What is your reaction when what you expected and planned did not happen? Think about it.

In the 1930s, a couple had the brilliant idea of experimenting. They wanted to prove that if they raised an ape with their 10-month-old daughter with the same treatment, the ape would get used to human customs and even say a few words. That was the thesis. So, they did it and registered it. After the experiment, eight months later, they gave up, and the plan was to continue until the age of 5. Contrary to what they expected, the child imitated the ape instead of acquiring human habits. And this shows how more adaptable human beings are than animals.

Now, this experiment was not necessary to understand that humans have a much greater capacity for adaptation than other animals. Because the human brain, and human capacity, in general, make the human being ahead of animals. Adaptability is needed for many people when plans go wrong, and instead of adapting to the new reality, they are sad, depressed, anxious, and angry.

We are not apes; we are human beings. When life gives us lemons, we make lemonade. However, you need to use this intelligence. It’s no use being anxious. You must cast anxiety on the Father, who takes care of you (Matthew 6:25-34). It was as Solomon said that the person makes plans. Still, the confirmation comes from the tongue of the Lord (Proverbs 16:1). Nowadays, there are many tools to plan (calendar, agendas, work groups in applications), but God laughs at the plans of the human being. How often have you made plans, and the unfolding of things proved to be more and more distant?

What is our reality today? I wanted the A, but the Z came; what can I do with the Z? The human being adapts and learns. Humans can live in the North Pole, the Sahara Desert, or the Amazon Forest. So, wake up to this intelligence. Let’s go ahead because we are intelligent beings. Meditate on this subject by watching the video above.
