The Secret To Renewing Yourself Everyday Without Ever Getting Tired
Has the routine made you lose heart?
How to renew yourself every day and not fall into the routine (and the discouragement it brings)? Many people can’t stand firm until the end and can’t keep their strength, focus, and spirit in their goal. And above all, I talk about the most significant purpose, which is Salvation. What’s the use of reaching everything in life and, in the end, losing eternity? You took care of the body but didn’t care for the soul.
The apostle Paul said: “Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day” (2 Corinthians 4:16). In other words, despite everything he and the other disciples lived (which was much bigger than what we live in these days), they did not lose heart. They remained until death (and graphic death, like Paul, who was beheaded).
And we enter into a routine life of work in which every day is the same. So, how do you keep your spirit up, despite that? The secret to not losing heart in the face of routine is to renew yourself internally. In life, the new is ahead, in the future (and not behind). You won’t be able to restore your strength by looking at the past. It is as Paul says: “I press toward the goal (…)” (Philippians 3:14). When you have a goal, of course, you will renew your strength because you will always look at the distance between you and that goal.
You who keep complaining that you are bored are living in the present, looking through the lens of the past. You’re not looking to the future. So, you think, “I’m tired”. When we look at the many things we’ve done that didn’t work out, or we have to do it again, we get tired. You can always wash clothes, for example. Likewise, you can’t say: “I’ve tried, and it didn’t work out.” You have to try new things and look to the future.
I’m looking forward to my Salvation.
So, renew yourself every day, and look to the future. Don’t be discouraged, and don’t stand still complaining. Do you have to clean the house? Thank God that you have a home to clean. Because we are living in an ungrateful generation in which nothing is enough. Thus, even if your exterior is corrupting, your interior begins this day as if it were the first day of your life.
