The happiest person in the world. Starring: YOU
What’s the process to create a successful film?
First of all, there needs to be a captivating story, dramatic and inspiring. Then the writer has to put the story on paper. This writer or playwright is the one who will bring the story to life in the mind of directors, producers, the cast, and the whole production team.
Every story has characters. That’s why, one of the key elements to making a hit movie is to choose good actors. Once the casting director is familiar with the script, he starts to select a cast. I’m sure you’ve seen in movies when an actor is called back to perform for the director. The director will then see if he is fit for the part. This selection process is crucial because the actor is the one who will have to transmit to the viewer the emotion and credibility of the story. The difference between a good actor and an amazing actor can make all the difference in the outcome of a film.
And it’s on this point which I want to focus.
Why am I giving you this illustration?
Yesterday, we spoke about the story you tell yourself. We have the ability to define our lives through the story’s we tell. [More about this here.]
It’s clear that the power of a story is linked to our ability to make it happen. That’s why you can invent your own story, the film of your life, according to your imagination and capability. God luck with that. However, you can also choose to be a character in God’s story, get into His script, into His project of life, which can include you as one of the main characters—and then you can count on all of His capability.
God is the biggest and best Writer, Director, Producer, and Casting Director that could exist. He already has the story of humanity mapped out and written to the smallest of details. This story has a happy ending for those who believe in it and a sad ending to those who doubt. But everything is already determined. And whether you want to or not, you already are a part of this story. You are already a character in God’s “film.” The only question is what kind of character have you been and want to become, and what will be your end when the story finishes.
See how God behaved in the Bible. Every story and character shows that God was always searching for people who would fulfill the roles that were needed to take part in that story. For example, when God decided to create a special nation that would bring, from amongst it, His Son one day, he searched for the protagonist of the story. It would have to be someone of faith, who would be a reference point to all the descendants to come. Who did God choose for this role? Abraham and Sarah. The unlikeliest of heroes, incapable in the eyes of man; yet today they are one of the best reference points to those who want to live happily ever after.
But how can you stand out in the story of God? What will make you a blessed person, chosen to accomplish one the greatest roles God has for a human being in His story?
