TAKE SOMEONE ELSE'S SUCCESS TEST AND SEE IF YOU PASS

There are two groups and two reactions to someone else's success.

I propose a test for you: the test of other people’s success. How do you deal with or feel about the success of other people? There are two ways to deal with this. The first reaction is to envy the success of the other, to hope that they fail. And the different response is to admire and study with the interest of learning: “why is this person so successful, and what can I learn from them so that I may become successful too?”

The first group usually comprises people who think the world has limited space. And anyone who grows will take their space. Therefore, I have to cheer for the other’s failure so that my portion is more considerable. This first group is of the envious, those who cheer against it, those who want to see others stumble, and those who climb on the backs of others.

The second group believes that, although many things in the world are limited, there is an inexhaustible source. We are limited only by our creativity and willingness to work. In other words, there is enough for my neighbour and me to prosper together. If he’s okay, it will be better because he will leave me alone. If I am on the side of someone going wrong, I always worry that someone will stab me in the back.

We see in the Bible several stories of envy. For example, from the beginning (Genesis), we already see that Isaac faced envy in the land of the Philistines. At that time, it was necessary to dig wells to use the water. And where Isaac dug, he found water. Instead of the Philistines saying: “what is your technique? Teach us, there’s water for everyone in this region,” do you know what they did? They buried Isaac’s wells. Thus, they became enemies of Isaac because everything he put his hand on prospered.

God will not let anything be missing for those who are His. He promises our daily bread won’t be missing even if we’re in the desert. If you have the mentality of envying other people’s success, you are attracting a spirit of misery to yourself. And the more you keep, the less you will have because it’s the spirit of scarcity. On the other hand, the free person has the spirit of creation and abundance and trusts in the power of the Creator. If they lose today or tomorrow, there will be another better door.
