SMALL BEGINNINGS, BIG CHANGES FOR 2026
Check out valuable tips for those who really want to change this new year, in a practical and possible way.
Every year, at the beginning of a new cycle, people make many plans. They dream big, set ambitious goals and want quick changes. However, most of these plans are no more than a few days of the year.
This happens because many want to start too big. They try to change everything at once and, faced with the difficulty, give up. The Word of God, however, shows us another way: almost everything that is great began small.
The mistake of wanting to change everything at once
Life itself teaches this principle. Human beings are born small and grow over time. Trees start as seeds. So are the true changes: they are born from small principles practised with constancy.
When someone doesn’t know where to start, they end up returning to old habits. Therefore, the biblical guidance is clear: do not despise the small beginnings (Read Zechariah 4:10).
Small decisions, big effects
A great transformation can start with a simple detail. Waking up ten minutes earlier, for example, can change the morning – and, consequently, the whole day.
In marriage, a small gesture, such as a kiss when leaving and arriving home, can rekindle closeness and make room for greater change. They are simple actions that communicate love, care and presence.
What have you been putting inside your mind?
The same goes for professional and personal life. Exchanging a few minutes on social media for edifying reading can, over time, transform the way we think and act. It’s the same screen and the same time, but with completely different results.
God first
Starting the day with the Word of God, even if it’s just a verse, is putting God ahead of everything. This is tithe in its deepest sense: the first of time, attention and life.
It may seem small, but the effects are large and long-lasting.
Start small
The Bible summarises this principle in Job 8:7:
“Though your beginning was small, yet your latter end would increase abundantly.”
Before you try to change everything or teach someone, focus on yourself.
What is the small change you can start making from today?
