One of the most useful lessons I’ve learned in my life about self-discipline, organisation, focus and productivity was this: everything has its place. And, if possible, never put or leave anything out of place. It seems to be simple, but just take a quick look at your room, your drawers, your car and your mobile phone, and you’ll realise that it’s not that simple and that when things are out of place, you get confused, distracted and waste time because the human being was not created to live amid the mess.

If you apply what I’m talking about, you’ll realise how useful this is. And a rule as strong as this could only have roots in God Himself. If you look at Genesis, when He created the world, the Earth was a mess. So God proceeded to organise things and put them in their proper place.

You will find that many things in your life are not progressing because you have not put them in their place. This starts with the First, which is God. When someone asked the Lord Jesus what was the greatest commandment, He replied, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment” (Matthew 22:37,38). Some people are not even practising the first commandment. It’s like I usually say: if you missed the first button on the shirt, you will miss the next one. When you don’t have that respect for God, everything else you do will be out of place.

Another example is when the person receives money and forgets that each penny of it has its place, and its role. If you spend more money in one place, it will be missing in the other. And so there are people who spend more than they can afford. Sometimes they spend money on what they shouldn’t (and what they should, goes unpaid). They don’t put God first in their finances…

So put your life in order. Carry this rule with you in everything you do. Wake up! Everything has its place. Apply this and you will see growth and productivity multiply in your life. Watch the video above and think about it.
