It’s not a problem to try several relationships and give up when you notice it’s not what you’re looking for. Sometimes it’s all a part of the process of finding the right person. But if you feel this has become something normal, it can be a sign of a problem.

Think about the reasons behind the failed relationships and see if there is a pattern of mistakes on your part. Be a good self critic. Is there a recurring complaint? For example: “You’re too jealous?” or “I like you, but not your friends.” It’s important to evaluate if you have a certain behavior that’s self destructive for a good relationship. If you have difficulty identifying something, ask someone close to you, someone whose opinion you trust and respect, if they notice something a quality you have that might be causing these failed relationships. Develop strategies to deal with these shortcomings.

Also, pay close attention if you’re attracting the type of person that doesn’t want a serious commitment or that has serious behavioral issues. Evaluate your criteria to begin a relationship.
