Monkey brings up age-old question

Imagem de capa - Monkey brings up age-old question
Who’s smarter, man or monkey? Before you answer that question watch this video:

All jokes aside, let’s learn something from this. Notice what the consequences are, when you make a decision based on emotion.

The soldiers, excited about the monkey being present, are clearly taken by an emotional state of happiness, distraction and diversion. They make fun of the monkey, and display huge amounts of confidence in their own superiority. In the midst of all the excitement, the soldier on the left tells his friend to give the machine gun to the monkey. The friend, who doesn’t think for a minute, gives the loaded machine gun to the monkey. The rest is all laughs, but it could have ended much worst.

Notice how this clearly illustrates what can happen if we act by emotions. We stop using reason, do stupid things and put our strength in the hands of the enemy.

Decisions you make  based on emotions are not decisions at all, they’re impulses. Don’t elude yourself.

We are emotional beings. When we are wrapped up in an emotion – whether that’s anger, joy, sadness, euphoria, passion or any other – we can do dumb things and put our very lives at risk. We reduce ourselves to irrational creatures.

In the same way, many people marry because of an emotion, do business through emotions, go by the impulse of friends, or embrace a religion simply because of what a religious emotion makes them feel.

Emotions have their time and place. We should never base our decisions on them.
