IntelliMen Challenge #10

Men. Intelligent.™

Challenge #10

Don’t start before completing Challenge #9
If you want to join the IntelliMen Project, start from Challenge #1.

Challenge: Awaken your anger against something wrong, and use it in an intelligent manner to do what is right.

Explanation: “If you falter in times of trouble, how small is your strength.”  In other words, if a man doesn’t embrace and fight for a good cause, he’s weak. He’s indecisive, doesn’t know what he believes in, or what banner to raise, and this is the problem behind many weak men. They lack purpose, and seem not to know why they are here… These men vegetate simply because they do not embrace a good cause; they waste their energy on what is mediocre. They are weak.

But an IntelliMan is strong. That’s why he fights for a good cause. A sign that you have embraced a cause, and fight for it, is anger. It’s an anger against wrong, injustice, immorality, against things that should not be allowed to happen. Think of the great men who’ve fought for a cause. Moses got to the point of unintentionally killing an Egyptian when he saw him mistreating a fellow Hebrew. David was angry at Goliath. The Lord Jesus drove the religious leaders and hypocrites out of the Temple with a whip. Martin Luther rose up against the heresy of the Catholics and began the Protestant movement. Martin Luther King Jr. fought against racial segregation in the U.S, and Nelson Mandela spent 27 years in prison for the same cause. I could go on.

Take note that each one of these men raised a banner against what was wrong, unacceptable, and unjust. They went to the extreme to change a situation. They were indignant men, revolted by what they saw, but they did not lose their power of reason. They learned how to use their anger in an intelligent manner and caused radical and positive change.

A real man is not passive in the face of injustice, starting with his own life. Yes, before you change a nation you have to change your own life first. So, this challenge calls you to identify a situation in YOUR LIFE which you should be angry at, but instead, you’ve been passive about it. Wake up your anger and examine your life. What’s wrong? What should not be happening? What has damaged your beliefs and principles? Where is your life headed? Are you happy with what you see? Are you satisfied with the results? Do you have too much peace about a situation that should have changed a long time ago?

Read this text. Discover your anger, then quickly decide what intelligent steps you are going to take with respect to it. Unleash your anger through firm, decisive attitudes — no more delays or detours. Be strong. Be intelligent. Be a man!
