You may have never thought about this question but think about it because it’s very important. It concerns your life long after your death. The question is: in whose interest is it that people don’t believe in God?

You see today, in the world, a movement to eradicate God from society. It is a movement to ridicule the faith (interestingly and specifically, the Christian faith). There is a seemingly united, orchestrated work of the media and society, in general, to take God out of people’s lives. For example, in a school in the middle of São Paulo, an order was issued so that the teachers could not say anything about God in the classroom (not even a “God bless you”). In other words, there is an effort to remove God from people’s lives.

So, in whose interest is it that people don’t believe in God? Obviously, the first one is the devil. Naturally, he doesn’t want people to believe in God. He works so that people do not believe in his existence and God’s. The devil knows that human beings naturally thirst to know the Creator. Knowing this, the devil replaces the belief in the true God with a false god, anything a person puts first in their life. In fact, the devil must be very proud of this saying he created: “all paths lead to God”. The Lord Jesus said that He is the way (John 14:6).

In first place, an idol consumes time, money, effort, and the whole purpose of a person’s life. The gods of this world want your full attention. So, you have to wake up to this movement that is happening. Today, we see governments that have certain ideologies with the interest for you not to believe in God. Why is the Christian faith persecuted since its beginning, as in the time of the Roman Empire, for example? What is the fear that governments have? They are afraid that Christians will not submit to the leader of the government because Christians have already chosen a leader for themselves: the Lord Jesus.

You must know that you are the one who chooses whom you will believe in, that is, who will occupy first place in your life. And His Word is clear: “He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned” (Mark 16:16).
