"I LEARNT NOT TO TRUST ANYONE," SHE SAID

Many say you can't trust anyone nowadays, but have you been able to give what you expect from others?

Someone said, “I don’t trust anyone else.” And this person poured bitterness into these words; they poured pain. Naturally, they were the words of someone who had been betrayed and disappointed to trust someone.

Let us understand this: “Thus says the Lord: “Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the Lord” (Jeremiah 17:5).

You don’t need to go through disappointment with someone (whether in business or love) to understand that human beings are not 100% reliable. Because they are human beings, they are flawed, have limitations and can be wrong.

God is saying we cannot trust ourselves, much less other human beings. He says this as a fact of humanity, but not for you to have evil eyes with other people.

He also says: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5). Understand the following: we are flawed and fallen beings. The Bible says no righteous one exists, and we are all below God’s standard.

So, understanding this, what will be the practical consequences for your life? First, what must I do about my limitations if I know I can’t trust my abilities? The answer is: walk with your head down and ask God for mercy. I must depend on His power, not on my strength. I must always look for this strength from Above that I need to face whatever it is. I have to prevent myself from what I know is my weakness. Each person has their own inclinations.

The human being tends to forget the Lord. You have to turn your heart to God. “‘And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one.” You’re always looking to the Above. And that keeps us humble, realistic and down to earth.

The second thing we understand by this word is that I can’t depend on someone else (wife, father, mother, son, boss). Because this person can’t guarantee me that they will always be there fulfilling their duties and be loyal. This person can’t secure even themselves. And many people are putting their lives in other peoples’ hands and paying a very high price for it.

It’s not you living in the paranoia of looking for flaws in people, but it’s having a balanced understanding. Know that you will expect something from them, and they will fail. Or, at least, one day, they will die. Only God does not die; only He fulfils the promises and is the 100% reliable standard. And therefore, only He is worthy of all our trust. Learn this. The man who relies on God will always be firm.
