FRUSTRATED BECAUSE NOBODY UNDERSTANDS YOU? THIS MAY BE THE REASON

Everyone wants others to understand their pain and their story, but only one can fully understand you.

Everyone wants to be understood. When the motorway patrolman stops you on the road because you were going too fast, he asks you: “Do you know why I stopped you?” Then, you want to tell a story, you want him to understand you and let you go without being fined. When you want to change the furniture in the living room or the kitchen, and your husband thinks it’s the wrong time as you have to save money to pay the debts and buy a house, but you want him to understand that the furniture is terrible and you are ashamed to bring guests to the house. When you, as a young person, want to go out with your friends for the weekend and want your parents to understand and agree. So, everyone wants others to understand their pain, their story and what they’ve been through. There’s only one problem with that: the truth is, no one can fully understand anyone.

Human beings do not have the skills and resources to fully understand another human being. For you to fully understand another person, you have to understand their childhood, what their parents were like and know and understand the experiences they went through. You have to be in their shoes. Sometimes, not even the person understands themselves. They pay a psychologist for years to help them understand themselves. So how is anyone else going to understand them?

It’s no use making people understand you, victimising yourself, enjoying your pain or being the suffering protagonist of the drama you created for your story. This is a waste of energy and a waste of friendships, because you, wanting everyone to understand you, are unbearable. Nobody can stand you. Therefore, you destroy relationships. You say: “No one understands me, so I’ll isolate myself”. The truth is that no one will understand you.

So what do you need to do? Instead of trying to be understood, you need to understand that you want a free pass to be mischievous, lazy, and not go to work, a free pass to do whatever you want.

Thus, you have to be less concerned about the opinion of others. We don’t always understand each other. Only one person truly understands us: God. The psalmist said, “O LORD, You have searched me and known me. You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought from afar off” (Psalm 139:1,2).

You have to search for this God, who already knows what you are going to say. It was He who created you. If you want to be understood, you have to go to your Creator. Because He will understand everything about you and will reveal little by little what you need to know about yourself. And better: it will give you a good deal of understanding towards other people. Well, when you understand that no one understands anyone, you will understand that you have to have compassion and good eyes towards people, that you shouldn’t judge other people because we don’t know what they are going through, where they came from and the reason they do what they do.

Therefore, God will help you to change and be a more mature person in everything you do. Follow this message in full in the video above.
