FOR THOSE WHO REALLY WANT TO WIN IN LIFE
Everyone runs after success, but few stop to think about what really defines a true winner.
Look around you, and immediately it will become clear: everyone is trying to win in life. Every day, people come and go from work, study, building, planning and running after achievements. Each one in their own way, but in common, they all seek to reach a point where they can take a deep breath, look back and say: “I won”.
However, there is a much more important question than this.
But… will you win in death?
The big question is not only whether someone has won in life. The question that really matters is: will this person win in death?
Winning in life, almost everyone wants. But winning in death is what really defines eternal destiny. And this is so strong that the Lord Jesus Himself taught that whoever wins in death, in fact, overcomes death itself. When the body returns to the dust, this person does not end – they pass to real life.
The apostle Paul explained this clearly by saying, “Death is swallowed up in victory. O Death, where is your sting?” 1 Corinthians 15:54-55
The secret is in sin
The Bible reveals something direct and blunt: the sting of death is sin. Therefore, to overcome in death means to overcome sin while still alive.
When someone overcomes sin, the moment of death arrives, and they find nothing to accuse. It’s like a person taken to the police station: they conduct all the investigations and searches, and they find nothing against them. What’s left? Release.
So it happens to the one who conquered sin in life. Death can’t stop them.
Alone, no one can
Maybe you think: “But that’s impossible. Everyone sins.” And it’s true. None of us can overcome sin on our own.
However, to overcome death, the help of the one who has already overcome it is necessary. And there is only one: Jesus.
He is the only Saviour because death could not stop Him in the grave. By taking upon Himself our sins, He gave us the opportunity, through faith in Him, to have our debt resolved.
Thus, when we die in faith, death also finds nothing against us.
True wealth is to believe in the Word of God and live for it. This is what defines who wins in life and death.
Where are you investing your efforts?
There’s nothing wrong with wanting to win in life. Work, study, prosper, build a family, have stability – all this is legitimate.
The question is another: have you made efforts to win in death?
If death arrived today, what would you take from your material achievements? The money, the titles, the goods… what could they do for you?
Is your soul prepared? Have you lived a faith only of words or a faith lived in everyday life, which overcomes sin?
Who is the real winner?
The real winners are not the names of the “top 10” or “top 100” lists. The real winners are those who, at the time of death, overcome their own death.
If you put so much effort into winning in life, maybe it’s time to invest even more to win in the last breath.
