Following the procession

Imagem de capa - Following the procession

All those who have followed a procession or a crowd know how it goes. You see that group of people with one goal; you find it nice and join in. You walk by their side, chanting the litany or other rants they’re promoting. Knowing where they’re headed and what are their motives is optional.

There comes a time in life when we have to leave the procession and start to run.  No matter how comfortable and cozy the rhythm of the crowd may be; this false sense of security and comfort will be the cause of our demise up ahead. We somehow believe that the hype of the crowd will always be there. But when we least expect it, the rains or distractions come and the crowd scatters. Feeling lost, we complain and ask “Why did it stop?”

It stopped because no procession lasts forever. Sooner or later everyone goes their way.

That’s why the riskiest thing you can do is to follow the crowd.

The safest thing is to know what you want, discover the reason of your existence and run in direction of your purpose. Don’t wait for anybody. Don’t look to the sides to see how many are pursuing the same objective. Look exclusively to the target, and run for your life.

Has this moment in your life come?

One thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 3:13,14)
