“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2

It is an easily observable fact that before a body is transformed from “unhealthy” to “healthy”, its mind must first be transformed. Before a marriage is transformed, the minds of the two need to be transformed. Before a company is formed, the mind of the one leading that company must change. And everything in life that you find, first existed in someone’s mind and then gained physical existence.

The human mind is the great generator of things because God made us in His image and likeness and gave us the power to transform things. We were made a little below the angels, says the Bible. It is also written: “And do not be conformed to this world (…)” (Romans 12:2). In other words, do not adapt to the world, do not follow the course of the world as someone who lets the current of the river carry them. It also talks about “renewing the mind”. Like everything, the mind needs to go through care and maintenance so that it continues to work. And the mind tends to get attached to ideas that no longer work. Perhaps, your way of working is outdated, but the world moves forward. For example, we are in the era of artificial intelligence and robotisation, and many jobs are lost. People are sad but do not follow their work area’s progress. And so it is in life. You can stay behind.

And if you don’t transform yourself in the mind, how will you transform outside? This is the level of madness in the human being: people want transformation from the outside, but inside, they remain married to their old ideas.

So, if the transformative power of my life is in my mind, what do I have to do? What should be my strategy? It is to fill my mind with the Word of the One who created it. Whoever created the mind is superior to it. So, intelligence tells us: “What else does He have to teach us? What is the manual of our mind?” The manual is His Word.

But, human beings do not want to submit to the Creator; they want to do what they like and do not understand that they are slaves to this supposed “freedom”. True freedom comes from being able to do what you want but choosing to do only what is good. Humans resist the Divine mind because they believe they will be slaves to it. But we are all slaves to something (to ourselves, ideologies, and philosophies we choose to follow). Since you’re not God, you’re going to follow someone. So, if I follow someone, why not the greatest of all? Why not the Creator? Just think a little bit.

Perhaps, you do not submit to the Word of God but to the words of the medicine prescription, the governor, social media and all other words that come into your head. That messes up your day. You enslave yourself by the words of this world and resist the Word of God, which is good. God’s willpower will never be bad for you. Pay attention: God will never tell you to do something that will hurt you. Sometimes you go to the doctor, and they say: “You have to take this medicine, but it has a side effect, which can cause this or that”. The doctor’s word, with the best of intentions, will prescribe something that can cure but also cause other problems. However, the Word of God will never have side effects on you because it is good, perfect and acceptable.

And if your mind is transformed by the Word of God, the rest of your life will also be transformed.
