DID YOU KNOW THAT YOUR UNDERSTANDING HAS EYES?
The world is full of "blind" who carry the truth, but you can be the exception and have the vision only God can give you!
Did you know that your understanding has eyes? Yes, our reasoning has a vision. And we can only say that we understand something when the eyes of our understanding are open to that thing. So, we visualise that which makes sense in our head, and that becomes part of us.
Paul teaches the Christians of Ephesus: “the eyes of your understanding being enlightened (…)” (Ephesians 1:18). It was for them to understand their vocation, God’s purpose in their lives. And the terrible thing is that you live without purpose, without knowing why you are here. Where you come from, where you’re going, what you’re doing? When you have no purpose in life, you are like an aimless boat, like a blind man looking for obstacles. So, you must have the eyes of your understanding open.
I will give you an example that you will understand: living with someone who does not see what we see is very difficult. In your family, you may live with someone like this. And you find yourself totally frustrated, trying to make the person know what you are trying to explain to them, your reasoning, your goal, the reason for things.
You want to save, for example, to buy a house and get out of paying rent. But your spouse thinks the rent is okay and that you should use the money saved and take a trip. This person can’t see what you’re seeing. So, when we live with someone who does not see what we see, disagreements, frustrations, and egos are hurt. Because you get very frustrated, you think: “How can you not see? I don’t know what else to do or say for you to understand what I’m talking about with you.”
And what you’re talking about could make perfect sense. Everyone sees that you are right and that your argument and reasons are correct. But the other person doesn’t see that. What’s the point? So, the son leaves the house, and the wife ends the marriage. That’s how the divided houses happen. That’s when both people don’t see the same thing.
So, you understand what it’s like to not have an enlightened or blinded understanding. In fact, the Word of God says that the god of this age (the devil) has blinded the understanding of the unbelievers. Evil has blinded people so that he can lie as if it were true. And you can be cancelled for telling the truth, nowadays.
This is how blind people are: they stumble, causing problems for themselves and others, and fall into a pit. So, what do you need to know and do? First, you need to understand that your understanding has eyes; you need to have a vision of things. The person who has a vision is above most people, and they are the ones who have an eye in the country of the blind, as the saying goes. So, you need to look for this vision. And, above all, the understanding that God gives to those seeking to understand His purpose.
When the Lord Jesus was resurrected, the disciples were astonished. But see: “And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures” (Luke 24:45). Jesus had already told them about it, and at that moment, what He had said was happening.
That’s what you have to look for. And God will give it to you. God wants to enlighten the eyes of the understanding of sincere people who seek and desire. It is for people to know God’s purpose for their lives. Do this. Seek the enlightenment of your eyes. Ask God to give you understanding. It’s not about studying with the wise men of this world. I’m talking about understanding from the High Place, which only God gives.
