BLACK FRIDAY or OVERDRAFT FRIDAY? WHICH ONE WILL IT BE FOR YOU?

The day when many buy what they don't need, for half the double price, with money they don't have, to impress people who don't even care.

Black Friday has gained popularity worldwide as the “day of great promotions”. But few know its origin. The term was born in the United States, soon after Thanksgiving Day, which is always celebrated on the last Thursday of November.

This holiday, originally a religious observance, arose when the first pilgrims decided to thank God for the harvest in the new land. Over time, Thanksgiving has become one of the most important holidays in the country, marked by family reunions and demonstrations of gratitude.

How Black Friday became a millionaire business

The Friday after the holiday naturally became a shopping day. People were at home, without work, ready to enjoy the long weekend. Commerce quickly perceived the opportunity.

That’s how Black Friday was born: the beginning of the year-end sales season. The name became popular because, on that day, the stores “came out of the red and entered the black”, that is, they began to profit significantly.

When Black Friday becomes Overdraft Friday for consumers

If retailers enter “in the black”, many customers go the opposite way. The pressure to buy gifts, clothes, and travel, and to take advantage of offers, pushes thousands of people into debt.

Brazil illustrates this reality well: about 80% of families are in debt. Even so, many people make impulsive purchases, believing they cannot “lose the promotion”. For these people, Black Friday turns into Overdraft Friday, because they leave the blue and dive into the red.

The cycle of financial slavery

After Black Friday, come the Christmas promotions, and then the January sales. And so it goes….

The truth is that modern slavery does not use metal chains, but credit cards and “unmissable” offers…

For those who want to prosper and grow, understanding this movement is essential. You need to be above the pressure of consumption and not act on impulse. It’s time to put your feet on the ground and make conscious choices.

What really remains

The Bible states in 1 John 2.17:

“And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”

The world changes, trends pass, people pass (…), and the icons of the past disappear. But those who live with correct priorities and do God’s will build something eternal, and only those who have the true treasure will do it, which really matters.

Finally, watch the whole message in the video, learn to use faith with intelligence and don’t get carried away by the waves of the world.
