A pillar of cloud by day
The above photos were taken on December 16th 2011 in Birmingham, Alabama. The phenomenon is known as “Kelvin-Helmholtz waves”, which I won’t attempt to explain here. (If you really want to know the scientific explanation, check here or here.)
I’m more interested in how they show that some apparently far-fetched Bible events are not that inconceivable, after all.
And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of cloud to lead the way, and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so as to go by day and night. Exodus 13.21
