I’ve never met anyone who likes to be deceived. No one likes it, yet deception spreads around the world, and according to the Word of God, at the end of time, deception will multiply. Even those who are of God will be tempted in this way (Matthew 24:24). Therefore, it is essential to understand what makes a person more easily deceived, and I will outline 4 kinds of people who are susceptible to this. Identify if you are in one of these groups:

1st – People who want to get rich easily

There is no shortage of scams targeting individuals obsessed with money and material possessions, and they tend to fall for them easily. There will always be someone to introduce you to how to make easy money. Of course, you first have to invest to earn more. Those who seek to become wealthy quickly are often driven by ambition and greed. Because they only see money. The Word of God warns in 1 Timothy 6:9:

“But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition.”

I don’t mean that you must want to be poor; that’s not what the Word teaches. The alert is for the unbridled search to be rich easily or using questionable means, which has nothing to do with God.

2nd- The proud ones

They always boast of their intelligence and never admit to being easily deceived. The proud usually think they know everything and, as they always think they are right, no one can deceive them, bring something they no longer know. Thus, pride precedes the fall, as the Bible teaches (Proverbs 16:18). By pride, these people exalt themselves, thinking they are better and they become increasingly deaf to others. They only listen to themselves, so they don’t detect when something deceives them. In fact, your biggest deceiver is pride.

3rd- Highly emotional people

Sensitive people like this are deceived because they put at the centre of their lives, at the wheel, the biggest deceiver of all time: the heart. All the deceptions that exist in the world come from the human heart (Jeremiah 17:9). Think of any scam: of the winning ticket, of the betting, of love. Any of them was born in someone’s heart, a greedy heart that knew that emotional people give themselves to the heart. Emotions, by themselves, tend to deceive the person who is emotionally driven. Fear, passion, anger, hurt, and so on —all emotions deceive.

4th- Who doesn’t know the Word of God

After all, if you don’t have the mind of God, you don’t have vision, wisdom. You may have intelligence in some areas, but you lack wisdom for life because you are unfamiliar with the Word of God. This is because it doesn’t just talk about God, but also about the human being, their origins, the great problem of humanity that is sin, and their own will. It discusses pride, money, and everything that deceives people. Therefore, the knowledge of the Word shields you against deception. So, ask the Most High to teach you, make the Bible your daily bread and learn with humility.
