WHY DOESN'T GOD SPEAK TO ME?

His silence may not be in heaven, but in the ears of those who do not want to obey

“Why doesn’t God answer me?”

Perhaps the right question is: Have you been listening?

Many people pray, ask for direction, and, as they do not receive the answer they expect, conclude that He is silent. However, the Bible shows just the opposite: God speaks all the time.

Through the prophet Jeremiah, the Lord declared:

“I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you did not hear, and I called you, but you did not answer.” (Jeremiah 7:13)

That is, He insisted on alerting, guiding and calling the people. Still, they ignored His voice. It was like someone who hears knocking on the door, looks out the window, and, even knowing who is outside, decides not to open.

The problem is to listen only to what you want

In addition, many people want God to speak only what pleases their desires. However, when the answer requires change, renunciation or obedience, they prefer to pretend that the Most High did not answer.

Therefore, the problem is not with God. He keeps talking. The problem is in the willingness to listen.

The Lord has already left His voice in the Word. However, although today everyone has access to the Bible, many read it only to acquire knowledge, and not to know His will.

The Bible is the voice of God

To really listen to God, the person needs to approach the Word with humility. You need to leave opinions, desires and personal convictions outside and assume the posture of those who want to learn and obey.

When there is sincerity, a single word is enough.

The truth is simple: the heavens are not closed. Often, it is the ears that are closed to God.
