SCAPEGOAT! You need to know...

The true meaning of the "scapegoat" and what it reveals about Jesus.

Today I want to talk to you about a goat – yes, a goat – and you will understand why this animal has everything to do with your life. The expression “scapegoat” is well known; many people use it when they feel they are being blamed for something they did not do. But few know that this expression was born in the Bible and points directly to what the Lord Jesus did for me and for you on the cross – and, more than that, reveals something decisive for your life today.

The Meaning of the Scapegoat

To understand this symbol, we need to go back to the law of Moses. Once a year, the people celebrated the Day of Atonement – the day of forgiveness – and received the forgiveness of their sins. In this ritual, they separated two goats: one was sacrificed as symbolic payment for the faults, while the other remained alive.

And this is the point.

Aaron, the high priest, put his hands on the head of the living goat and confessed all the iniquities of the people. All kinds of sin – adultery, lies, theft, prostitution – were symbolically transferred to that animal. Then, a designated man took the goat to the desert, away from the camp. Upon seeing that scene, the people understood: “Our sins were taken away from us. We are forgiven.”

Jesus, the True Scapegoat

Now, connect the dots. The prophet Isaiah said, “The Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” Just as that goat symbolically carried the guilt of the people, Jesus took, in fact, all the sins of humanity, from Adam to the last human being that exists.

That’s why He suffered in Gethsemane. He who never sinned felt the weight of all sins in His body. The emotional, spiritual and physical pain was so great that He sweated drops of blood. While we are shaken by a single mistake, imagine what Jesus felt when absorbing everything that humanity has ever done, of the lowest, most shameful and perverse.

The soldiers crucified Him out of the city, just as they took the goat out of the camp. None of this happened by chance; God was fulfilling the prophecy. He was – and is – the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

What Does This Mean To You?

Maybe you’re carrying guilt; perhaps you’ve failed those you love, yourself and God. In addition, there may be dirt in your soul that no medicine, travel, therapy or method of self-knowledge can clean. After all, there are internal pains that the world simply cannot treat.

And that’s precisely where the Lamb comes in.

However, forgiveness is not automatic. You transfer your sins to Him when you turn to Jesus, repent, surrender, abandon sin and place yourself on the altar as a living offering. Thus, it is not about the sacrifice of animals, but about the sacrifice of their will.

Consequently, when you really regret and decide to live a new life, you understand: someone innocent paid the price for you.

“Pity for the Goat”? So Stop Sinning

There is always someone who says “poor goat”. But few remember that God put it all on his own Son – for you and for me.

If you feel sorry for the goat, then stop sinning. Stop repeating the same mistakes. Stop living in what only destroys you inside.

Repent. Leave sin behind. Receive forgiveness. Live in obedience. And then you will have peace, because “there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”.

Live This Peace Today

He is our scapegoat. He is our Lamb. And the chastisement that brings us peace was upon Him. Because of His stripes, we were healed.

And now, it’s up to you to decide: will you continue to carry guilt that He has already taken, or will you deliver everything to the altar and start living in true peace?

Watch until the end and share with your friends.
