Proactive Partner vs. Passive Partner

Imagem de capa - Proactive Partner vs. Passive Partner

With most couples, one is usually the proactive and the other is the passive.

A passive partner’s complacency and delay in making decisions/taking action frustrate a proactive one. A passive partner relies on their active partner to take the initiative and often feels frustrated because the other one got ahead of them.

The constant activity of a proactive partner, their incisive position on every matter, may cause their passive partner to feel dominated and pushed aside. On the other hand, a proactive partner feels alone in the relationship, abandoned by their passive partner who does not join them in their goals and the fight against their problems.

Intelligent couples strive to have a balanced dose of proactivity–supporting one another through healthy initiatives at the right time and in a respectful way.

Passivity does no good to any relationship.
