JUST A LITTLE WHILE, YOU CAN

Don't stop halfway; you may be almost at the finish line. "For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: “For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry." Hebrews 10:36,37

The old saying “fall at the last hurdle” applies to many situations in many people’s lives. It is no wonder it exists because humans seem to be able to give up when they are about to get there.

Unfortunately, this is common with many people who do not understand an essential factor about their way of thinking and acting.

When our mind says, “It doesn’t work anymore!” We can still go very far; you can be sure of that. The mind that is used to comfort will scream at the slightest sign of discomfort, telling us to return to the place of comfort we were before. In any situation, whether it is a physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual effort, it will always look for the place of least risk.

But the Word of God says:

For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: “For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. Hebrews 10:36-37

So, after doing God’s will today, you need to believe in the seed you planted to reap it in due time.

This “For yet a little while” is where many fall at the last hurdle because they can’t stand it; the mind speaks very loudly: “Give up”, “it’s no use anymore”, “you won’t be able to”, etc. And the person then gives up there.

How many people who have served, sought God, attended a church, overcame obstacles, and endured many struggles in life have lost hope, lost their strength, and given up after some delay in achieving what they wanted?

That is, they took all those years living in faith and obedience, threw them down the drain and turned their backs on God because they did not have the patience to wait a little while.

We need to learn to command our minds, hearts, and feelings, saying, “I will continue on this path because I know it is the right way and that God does not fail in His promise.”

It is worth remembering that this “will not tarry” is not our time; it is God’s, and God’s time is perfect. That’s when things happen. So, you must keep your patience and strength and tell your heart: be still!

It is as Psalm 4:4 says: “Be angry, and do not sin. Meditate within your heart on your bed, and be still.”

The world says you can’t rule your heart, but God says otherwise. Practice this!

Stop confessing your defeat! You need to change the way you speak and think and focus on what God teaches in His Word. Do His will because what is to come will come. Hold on just a little while. When you focus on what really matters, you will stop feeling this discouragement and this desire to give up.
